ARTIST OF THE MONTH

Mark Mulch

Singer/songwriter/producer and founding member of the country rock group the Mulch Brothers out of Nashville TN. Mark started writing songs at the age of 9 and has been writing and performing music almost his whole life.

Mark made the big move from his home in New Jersey to Nashville in January of 2006 with two goals in mind – landing a publishing deal and a record deal for the Mulch Brothers. In 2010 Savannah Music Group signed Mark as a staff songwriter and as an artist as a member of the Mulch Brothers. Just before signing the deal he scored his first cut in Nashville with Universal’s Randy Rogers Band with the song “Steal You Away” (Produced by Grammy Award winning Producer Paul Worley). The song became a single and spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Texas Music Charts as well as enjoying National radio airplay . The song also landed a spot in the film “Country Strong” starring Gwenyth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. This time around Warner Bros. act The Dirt Drifters cut the song for use in the film. The song “Lucky You” from the Mulch Brothers “Dig It Y’All” EP was featured in the Lifetime TV movie “12 Men Of Christmas” and now airs every year as a staple of their holiday programming. Licensing success continued with the song “He’s Lookin’ Better With Every Shot” being featured in the film “Junkyard Dog” as well as a very successful TV/Radio commercial campaign for health care company Connecticare with the theme song “You Know Us By Heart” written with Nick Mulch, Billy Falcon and Rose Falcon.

In the 19 years Mark has been writing in Nashville he has written with some of the top names in the Nashville songwriting community including: Dave Gibson, Dylan Altman, Rose Falcon, Billy Falcon, Jeff Middleton, Michael Heeney, Mike Dekle and more.

As part of The Mulch Brothers he has had radio success of his own with the single “Love Run Wild” becoming a hit on Sirius/XM satellite radio in 2008. The band has been touring nationally ever since and in 2013 got their second record deal with EFG Entertainment out of Memphis and released their album entitled “Next Of Kin” with the singles “Pushin’ Up Daisies” and “I Ain’t Ever Comin’ Back” getting national radio airplay. Mark and The Mulch Brothers have opened for such artists as: Eric Church, Bon Jovi, Craig Morgan, Big & Rich, Jewel, Eric Paslay and more!

In the past few years Mark has turned to the production and artist development side of things. Writing with and producing young up and coming artists Jessi Pugh, Born Sisters, Eva Katherine, Maddie Georgi and more.  In early 2017 Mark and his longtime co-writer and friend Australian born lead guitarist and singer Richie Scholl formed the duo Mulch & Scholl to tour and promote Richie’s new album “Southern” which includes 5 Mulch/Scholl co-writes including “Summer Road”, “The Fall” and “Burn The Day”. Mark also co-produced Jessi Pugh’s debut EP entitled “Five” with Daniel Dennis. Mark & Jessi have also scored two #1’s on SheWolf Radio with the songs “Gone” and “Music Up, Whiskey Down” which is also featured on the Country Music Discovery Series on Silverado Records.

Mark’s first ever solo record entitled “LIVIN’ IT UP” is now available on all download and streaming platforms. Produced by Mark, Daniel Dennis and longtime friend and collaborator Jim Kimball (Reba) along with one track being co-produced by bandmate Craig Eck. The album contains 10 tracks all written or co-written by Mark. The album also features some of the top studio session and touring musician names in the business as well as core members of Mark’s touring band. Look for a US Tour to promote the album.

In 2020 Mark’s cover of “Christmas Must Be Tonight” was licensed by Sony Music and included on the compilation CD “Christmas Wonderland” alongside such Legendary artist like Elvis Presley, Mariah Carey, Willie Nelson, Dean Martin, *NSYNC, Dolly Parton and more! Recorded at Welcome to 1979 Studios in Nashville TN direct to tape. The single is also available on all streaming and download services.

Mark’s Song Tide Down Featuring Kirstie Kraus has consistantly remained at the top of Radio Trop Rock’s Buzzin’ Dozen for most of 2024!
